1. Don't Move the Soil Pipe (Keep the Layout)

The golden rule of budget bathroom renovations is to keep your toilet, sink, and shower exactly where they are.

Moving water supply lines is relatively easy, but moving the waste/soil pipe for the toilet is highly complex, labor-intensive, and requires cutting into floor joists or walls.

2. Limit the Tiling

Only tile wet zones: Tile only inside the shower enclosure and directly behind the sink as a splashback.
